THE EVENT:

GRAND CANYON STATE – After a one-year hiatus the PBR heads back to Phoenix with the Ak-Chin Invitational taking place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena, formerly US Airways Center. The event will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 6. This will be the ninth time the PBR has visited Phoenix.

NEXT UP The PBR visits Duluth, Georgia, next weekend as the Duluth Invitational takes place at Infinite Energy Arena. The event will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 13.

PAST PHOENIX EVENT WINNERS – Reigning and two-time PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney captured the victory in 2014 in Phoenix when he went 3-for-3 during the two-day event. It was the first win in Arizona for Mauney.

FORMAT – During Round 1 on Saturday and Round 2 on Sunday, the bull riders will face one bull each. Following Round 2 on Sunday, the Top 15 riders with the highest cumulative scores after the two rounds will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round for one more ride and a chance at the event title.

POSSIBLE POINTS – There are 700 possible points available this weekend in Phoenix, as the winner of the event will receive 400 points and each of the three round wins is worth 100 points.

TELEVISION BROADCAST – Round 2 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round of the Ak-Chin Invitational will air on CBS Sports Network on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
