CBS Sports Network new home of Wrangler NFR

LAS VEGAS — The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) announced today its 2014 and 2015 television plan, featuring CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) as the new home of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. CBS Sports Network, which is available in nearly 60 million households nationwide, will also become the home of the PRCA’s Wrangler Champions Challenge presented by Justin Boots series, and the PRCA’s championship rodeos in Puyallup, Wash., and Omaha, Neb.

“We believe CBS Sports Network is a great fit for the PRCA, because it takes us to a mainstream sports network audience,” PRCA Commissioner Karl Stressman said. “It’s exciting for one of the fastest-growing sports in the world to partner with the fastest growing sports network in the country. The commitment of CBS Sports Network to ProRodeo will be a win-win for both partners.”

In addition to featuring LIVE coverage of all 10 rounds of the 2014 and 2015 Wrangler NFR, CBS Sports Network will also broadcast the recently-created Wrangler Champions Challenge presented by Justin Boots. “This new tour highlights our marquee contestants against the very best stock who will be featured on a consistent basis. Our fans will have a chance to see their favorite athletes in a Wrangler NFR-style format,” said Stressman.

As part of the multi-year agreement, CBS Sports Network will also televise the Justin Boots Playoffs from Puyallup, Washington and the Justin Boots Championships from Omaha, Nebraska. These championship broadcasts, as well as the Wrangler Champions Challenge presented by Justin Boots will run 90 minutes and each repeat once.
