Professional Bull Riders Returns to Sprint Center Feb. 21-22

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 12th consecutive year, the best bull riders and bucking bulls in the world will return to Kansas City’s Sprint Center on Feb. 21-22, 2015 for the Professional Bull Riders’ Kansas City Invitational, part of the elite Built Ford Tough Series.

For two nights fans will witness thrilling 8-second rides and jaw-dropping wrecks as the PBR’s brave riders risk it all against monstrous animal athletes that can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds – more than 10 times the riders’ weight in sinewy brawn. The bull riding action will begin at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 21, and at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 22.

Tickets for the two-day event go on sale Monday, Nov. 10, and start at $15. They will be available at the Sprint Center box office, www.SprintCenter.com and by telephone at (888) 929-7849.

Leading the way into Kansas City will be Missouri natives L.J. Jenkins and Brady Sims. Jenkins, who was born in Springfield, Missouri, finished the 2014 season ranked No. 12 in the world, while Sims, from Holt, Missouri, finished his rookie year ranked No. 24. These men will be joined by six former PBR World Champions: three-time and reigning PBR World Champion Silvano Alves (2011, 2012, 2014), J.B. Mauney (2013), Renato Nunes (2010), Kody Lostroh (2009), Guilherme Marchi (2008) and Mike Lee (2004), as well as fan favorites Gage Gay, Matt Triplett and Kasey Hayes.

Each of the Top 35 bull riders competing will get on one bull in Rounds 1 and 2 on Saturday and Sunday. After Round 2 on Sunday, the riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled and the Top 15 riders will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round for one more ride and a chance at the $30,000 event title.

Kansas City will be the eighth stop on the 2015 BFTS schedule, which will open at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, on Jan. 2-3. The season will conclude Oct. 21-25 in Las Vegas with the PBR World Finals, where the PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total purse of more than $2 million.

The event will be aired on CBS Sports Network. Times and dates will follow. Stay tuned to www.pbr.com for more information.

BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy®bAward winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
