Reno Rodeo Foundation Joins Light Up! at the Summit to Promote Denim Drive

RENO, Nev. (November 18, 2016) — Kick off the holiday season with the Reno Rodeo Foundation, Renown Children’s Hospital and the Reno Aces at Lights Up! at the Summit on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 5 – 7 p.m. Not only will Denim Drive volunteers be in attendance collecting donations, but Reno Rodeo Association members will be giving out Reno Rodeo coloring books, stickers and free hayrides from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 19, 5 – 7 p.m. Hayrides from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

WHERE: The Summit Reno, 13925 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89511.

WHO: Lights Up! begins at 5 p.m. with a live performance from the Hunsburger Elementary School Choir before JamPro Music Factory’s Freedom Revival takes the stage at 5:25 p.m. After Freedom Revival’s hour-long set of holiday classics, Santa Claus will make an appearance to give the first gift of Christmas followed by a fireworks display to close out the show. Throughout the show, Reno Rodeo Association members will be giving attendees free hayrides as well as passing out Reno Rodeo stickers and coloring books.

WHY: The 2016 Reno Rodeo Denim Drive is now underway and continues through Dec. 31, collecting new and slightly used clothing as well as monetary donations across 14 Northern Nevada counties for abused and neglected infants, children and teens who have been rescued from unsafe homes. More than 100 locations will host donation bins to collect new jeans, new socks and new underwear in addition to monetary donations being accepted online via PayPal at RenoRodeoFoundation.com and at any Northern Nevada Papa Murphy’s, Scolari’s Food & Drug Markets and Nevada State Banks.

Formed in 1986, the Reno Rodeo Foundation has been making a difference to children and families in northern Nevada for more than 25 years. Started as a private foundation with the sole purpose of distributing the proceeds from the annual Reno Rodeo through scholarships and community grants, the Reno Rodeo Foundation is now a 501(c)(3) public charity offering a much broader range of support to those in need in our community. The mission of the Reno Rodeo Foundation is to enhance and enrich the lives of Northern Nevada families by aiding children with extraordinary needs, building community partnerships, and providing scholarships to the University of Nevada, Reno.
