SALINAS, CA, July 16, 2018 – Horse parades are a long standing tradition of the California Rodeo Salinas filled with pageantry and over 150 horses.

This year the horse parades on Thursday, July 19th and Friday, July 20th will start on E. Alisal Street and end at the Salinas Sports Complex while the Saturday, July 21st and Sunday, July 22nd parades will continue to travel from Old Town Salinas to the Salinas Sports Complex. In past years, the Thursday parade has traveled along North Main Street from Northridge Mall to the arena.

Groups that participate in the horse parades included Sheriff’s Posses, Charros, costumed riding groups, visiting Rodeo Queens and various mounted groups. People line the streets early to watch the festivities each day. “Our pre-entries for the parade are up over last year. We are excited to produce this daily parade that our community embraces each year,” said Dean Callender, Horse Parade Chairman.
