RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rubens Barbosa (Iaciara, Goias, Brazil) won his first PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) event of the 2018 season Saturday night in South Dakota at the Rapid City Rumble inside Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

In Round 1 of the evening Barbosa covered Shishkabob (Bob Whisnant/Good Ol’ Boys) for 86 points. In the championship round, he recorded the highest score of the night with an 89-point ride aboard Red Dawn (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Heald Pro Bulls). The win earned him 120 world points and a $6,500 paycheck.

The seasoned Brazilian bull rider has also earned an invite to the 25th PBR: Unleash the Beast Dewalt Guaranteed Tough Invitational, presented by Cooper Tires in Nampa, Idaho, on October 20-21.

Texan young gun Taylor Toves (Stephenville, Texas) finished second, collecting a paycheck for $4,500 along with 70 world points. He rocketed to the runner-up finish compliments of his 85.5-point ride aboard Lil Hank (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) and later on Crazy Horse (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Machinery Auctioneers) in the championship round for 87.5 points.

Third place went to Cody Casper (Newport, Washington), for making the 8 on Rocky Mountain High (Bob & Judy Whisnant/B-J) in Round 1 for 86 points. Later in the championship round, the Washington native conquered Chopper (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Machinery Auctioneers) for 83.5 points. For his efforts he collected $3,100 and 40 world points.

Brazilian cowboy Lindomar Lino (Anapolis, GO, Brazil) finished fourth, backed by an 88-point effort on Cadillac Jack (TDS Bucking Bulls) in the opening round. Despite being dispatched off of American Gangster (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) in the championship round he leaves Rapid City with $2,600 and 20 world points.

Rounding out the Top 5 was Cody Rodeo Tyler (Guthrie, Oklahoma) who recorded an impressive 87-point ride in the opening round aboard Kookaburra (Rio Vista Rodeo & Equipment). His matchup against Pile Driver (Dakota Rodeo-Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Ken Barnhard) didn’t make the 8 in the championship round but the young cowboy collected $1,740 and 15 world points for his efforts.

A bovine athlete owned by Barker/Barnett #1 took home the top spot for the evening. Nacho received a 45.5 bull score after firing out of the chutes and dispatching Jake Lockwood (Volborg, Montana) in 1.87-seconds.
