Rumble in the Rockies Will Rock Colorado this Weekend

PUEBLO, Co. This weekend, the world’s toughest athletes will ride into Broadmoor World Arena for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Rumble in the Rockies, the 22nd stop on the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS).

The weekend will feature two nights of non-stop, adrenaline-fueled, heart-stopping action, as bull riding’s Top 35 stars will wrestle with nearly 90 tons of solid bull, 8 seconds at a time, for $140,000 in total prize money and the precious points needed to become the $1 million 2016 PBR World Champion.

The No. 1 bull rider in the world, Kaique Pacheco, arrives in Colorado Springs the winner of last weekend’s Charlotte invitational. Pacheco is tied for the lead in BFTS event wins with three, and will look to win his fourth event this weekend.

Also scheduled to compete are World Champions Silvano Alves (2014, 2012, 2011), Guilherme Marchi (2008) and Mike Lee (2004). Joining them are fan favorites Ryan Dirteater, Robson Palermo and Kasey Hayes; and young guns Jess Lockwood, Derek Kolbaba and Nevada Newman.

All 35 cowboys will ride in Rounds 1 and 2 on Saturday and Sunday. After Round 2 on Sunday, the two-day scores will be added together and the 15 men with the highest cumulative scores will immediately return for the Built Ford Tough Championship Round where the winner will be crowned.

The Rumble in the Rockies is one of the last stops on the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series, which culminates with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Nov. 2-6 at the new T-Mobile Arena. After five days of competition, the 2016 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who has earned the most PBR world standings points during the 2016 season, will be crowned and receive the coveted $10,000 World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.

Tickets for this two-night event will range in price from $15 to $102. All tickets can be purchased online at ticketswest.com, at the World Arena Box Office or via phone at (866) 464 2626.

For an enhanced experience, fans can also purchase tickets for the PBR Elite Seats section. New this season, PBR Elite Seats offer the avid bull riding fan a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s premier bull riding circuit. These tickets provide premium seats and the VIP experience of a lifetime, including early entry; a catered reception; a 60-minute backstage tour by a PBR Host, featuring a PBR 101 presentation and visit with the sport’s fiercest bulls; and the opportunity for photos and autographs from top PBR stars.

After the event, PBR Elite Seat ticketholders also will be given premium dirt access, where they can get their complimentary 8 Seconds PBR program, Elite Seat lanyard and other memorabilia autographed by the Top 35 bull riders in the world.

The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network – the home of the PBR – and networks around the world. According to Nielsen, the PBR has seen a 20 percent increase in viewership on CBS over the same events in 2015. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
