Schaper Goes 3-for-3 to Win in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. – Nathan Schaper captured the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) BlueDEF Tour (BDT) event victory Saturday night with a total score of 257.5 points inside the CenturyLink Center.

Schaper went 3-for-3 and earned $5,800 after riding 21 Guns (Darwin Ehlers) for 80.5 points in Round 1, Protecttheharvest.com (Lucas Cattle Co & Bucking Bulls) for 82 points in Round 2, and Cache Idiot (Flying V Bulls/Ryan and Deb Volmer) for 85 points in the championship round. With the win, Schaper earned 80 points toward the PBR world standings and an invitation to the Built Ford Tough Series’ Des Moines Invitational presented by Cooper Tires in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 23-24.

In second place was Keyshawn Whitehorse with a total score of 172 points, while Neil Holmes (169.5 points) and Beau Willis (164.5 points) took third and fourth respectively. Nathan Burtenshaw and ChadVanAmburg tied for fifth with a score of 86 points. Whitehorse earned 50 world standings points, while Holmes picked up 30 world standings points for the third-place finish. Willis earned 20 world standings points for finishing fourth, while Burtenshaw and VanAmburg notched 12.5 world standings points each for finishing fifth.

Organized Crime (OK Corralis/Gordan/D&H Cattle Company), Naughty List (Jenkins Cattle Company), and What’s Under Your Hood (L4 Livestock) tied for high-marked bull Saturday with a score of 44.5 points.Organized Crime (OK Corralis/Gordan/D&H Cattle Company) bucked off Justin Granger in the first round in 2.71 seconds. Naughty List (Jenkins Cattle Company) bucked off Timmy Vaughn in 3.39 seconds in the second round. What’s Under Your Hood (L4 Livestock) faced Brady Sims in the championship round, bucking him off in 2.52 seconds.

Omaha was the 18^th event of the 2016 BlueDEF Tour. The season will culminate with the 2016 BlueDEF Finals taking place Oct. 29-31 at South Point Arena in Las Vegas. The 2016 BlueDEF Champion will be the rider who earns the most world points throughout the 2016 BDT season, including the BlueDEF Finals. He will receive $50,000 and qualify to compete at the $2.3 million PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals.
