Shivers to Join McBride, Gaffney, Coleman, Hart in PBR’s Unfinished Business

PUEBLO, Colo. (Feb. 16, 2015) – During the CBS broadcast of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) 15/15 Bucking Battle in St. Louis on Sunday, Feb. 15, the PBR announced that two-time World Champion Chris Shivers has accepted the challenge and will compete alongside Justin McBride, Michael Gaffney, Ross Coleman and J.W. Hart on May 30 in Decatur, Texas, in the PBR’s Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business event.

“I’m pretty excited about the opportunity to compete with the guys that I did years ago,” Shivers said. “And, $160,000 is a pretty good incentive for me to get back on one last time.”

The Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business event is part of the J.W. Hart Challenge which takes place on Saturday, May 30, in Decatur, Texas. The event will be the PBR’s second ever PPV offering and will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET. The cost is only $29.95. Check with your local cable and satellite providers for more details.

The one-night-only event will feature eight Ring of Honor legends and world champions going against each other in a winner-take-all competition. Some of them have scores to settle, some of them think they still have it, all of them were at the top of their game when they competed — a few more than a decade ago. To date, the line-up includes:

  • Justin McBride -2005, 2007 PBR World Champion
  • Michael Gaffney -1997 PBR World Champion
  • J.W. Hart – 1994 PBR Rookie of the Year, 2002 PBR World Finals Winner
  • Ross Coleman – 12-time qualifier to the PBR World Finals (1999-2010)

The last three bull riders coming out of retirement for this competition will be announced in Arlington, Texas, on Friday, Feb. 27, during the PBR’s Choctaw Casino Resort Iron Cowboy powered by Kawasaki press conference at AT&T Stadium. Stay tuned to www.pbr.com for more details.
