The 106th California Rodeo Salinas in the Record Books

The Sun was Out and the Crowd Enjoyed the Day of Champions

SALINAS, CA – July 25, 2016 – The fourth and final day of the 106th California Rodeo Salinas was another day of action and entertainment for a crowd of 15,233. The overall attendance over the four days of Rodeo was 59,218 down just slightly by 1.1% from 2015.

The Sunday crowd witnessed cowboys and cowgirls receiving their gold and silver championship buckles on the Pendleton Whisky Day of Champions. The All- Around cowboy was Josh Peek from Pueblo, CO. The Bareback Riding championship was won by Winn Ratliff from Leesville, LA with a score of 161.5 on 2. Saddle Bronc Riding champ was Rusty Wright of Milford, UT with a score of 161.5 on 2, Tie Down Roping winner was Cooper Martin from Alma, KS with a time of 30.0 on 3 head, Steer Wrestling champion was Cody Kroul from Solon, IA with a time of 20.1 on 3, Barrel Racing winner was Nellie Miller from Cottonwood, CA, with a time of 64.82 on 4 runs, Team Roping champions were Erich Rogers from Round Rock, TX and Cory Petska from Marana, AZ with a time of 47.4 on five head and the Bull Riding champion was Scottie Knapp from Albuquerque, NM with a score of 167.5 on two bulls, the only rider to cover two.
