The 68th Annual Tri-State Rodeo Excitement Begins

The 68th annual Tri-State Rodeo will be held September 10th, 11th, and 12th. This annual event showcases exciting rodeo acts as well as professional musical entertainment.

The PRCA action will start on Thursday with rodeo performances beginning at 7:00 p.m. Devin Clemons Band will follow the Wednesday and Thursday rodeo performances in the Coors Party Pavilion.
Friday evening’s rodeo performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by budding country star, Chase Rice. When he takes the stage to perform, Chase Rice pulls no punches. “I’m looking for people who are looking to have the best night of their entire life,” Rice says of his raucous, get-down-or-get-out live ragers. His new album Ignite the Night is filled with a mix of songs that is sure to hit a note with listeners crossing many genres. Truthful, unfiltered, and unafraid, Rice is the right man to get the party started at the 68th annual Tri-State Rodeo.

Saturday night’s entertainment gets underway at 7:30 p.m. with the PRCA rodeo performers taking center stage. They will be followed by country up-and-comer Brett Eldredge. This Illinois native’s soulful, distinctive baritone is sure to fill the arena. Eldredge boasts a Country Music Association Awards’ nomination for “New Artist of the Year,” a hit single “Don’t Ya” topping the country charts, new single “Beat of the Music” most added at radio in its first week and the release of his debut album Bring You Back. But it’s during his high-energy performances that Eldredge says he feels the most alive – as Taylor Swift fans discovered last spring when he opened 19 dates on the superstar’s The RED Tour. “Everything it takes to get to wherever I’m going to play – every airplane and car I ride in – is so worth it once I’m able to get up on that stage,” says Eldredge. “I want everybody in the crowd to feel the energy that I’m feeling from them.” Saturday night at the Tri-State Rodeo is sure to be a night to remember.

“We have boots on the ground to make the 68th annual Tri-State Rodeo another great event for Fort Madison. We made some positive changes in 2014 that continue to evolve and add value to our event. We hope more people will come out and see what all the excitement is about this year. The new location for the permanent stage gave our national music entertainers a chance to truly showcase their act. We think this will be true for Chase Rice and Brett Eldredge as they bring their unique sounds to life in the arena. Every night of the Tri-State Rodeo will have something for everyone to enjoy, so we invite you to come out and join us for the fun.”

The Tri-State Rodeo Committee is also pleased to welcome back The Wild Child, Troy Lerwill. The Wild Child combines his love of the Rodeo and motor cross to bring comedy, barrel man expertise and daring feats to the arena. Best known for his “The Wild Child” motorcycle act, he is sure to bring excitement and fun to this year’s Rodeo lineup.

Ready for Rodeo events will take place throughout the week leading up to the rodeo for participants of all ages starting on Saturday, September 5th with the Special Kids Rodeo. The Grand Rodeo Parade is scheduled for Saturday, September 12th commencing at 9:30 a.m. and will travel down Avenue G. The Tri-State Rodeo is a community event that involves many hours of manpower by community members and groups with all proceeds being put back into the community.
