New Energy, New Excitement – the Calgary Stampede Shines the Spotlight on Western Events and Agriculture in 2018!

Calgary – Experience the energy and excitement of the Calgary Stampede’s Agriculture Zone, presented by McDonald’s, in a whole new way during Stampede 2018! Get ready for a fresh new lineup of events and displays, plus a new spin on fan-favourites for 10 days and 10 nights of authentic western experiences from July 6 – 15, 2018.

By night, the spotlight will be on new, prime-time performances from 7 – 9 p.m. in the state-of-the-art Nutrien Western Event Centre. Out of your element with animals? No problem! Our announcers will guide you through what’s happening, and the action and energy will have you on the edge of your seat. From the majesty of the Six Horse Hitch performing to live music by the members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, to the rumble and roar of the Vintage Tractor Pull, there is something for everyone.

“Whether you’re a longtime fan, or you’ve never experienced one of these events before, be prepared to enjoy a great show,” says Calgary Stampede Competitions Manager Melissa McKay, adding, “There’s nothing quite like watching one of our signature events in this atmosphere. It’s electric!”

By day, experiences in the Calgary Stampede’s Agriculture Zone will also be bigger and better than ever. Stroll through the barn to see the beauty and brawn of heavy horses on display for all 10 days of Stampede 2018. If you’re interested in the small but mighty, the mini horses are one of many breeds that will be showcased in the now larger Northern Lights Arena. And throughout the Agriculture Zone, don’t miss out on the opportunity to meet our community’s agri-food producers and learn where your food comes from.
