Matt Triplett earned the win at the RMEF Big Bull Tour TPD event over the weekend.

PUEBLO, Colo. – Fresh from a much-needed two-week break, Matt Triplett won his first Touring Pro Division event of the summer when the 22-year-old rode to a total score of 183 points at the RMEF Big Bull Tour TPD event in Lewiston, Idaho, on June 20-21.

Triplett, currently ranked No. 7 in the PBR world standings, recorded 91.5 points in the long round, before matching the score with another 91.5-point effort in the final round to take an almost insurmountable lead and capture his first PBR victory of 2014 on either the Built Ford Tough Series or the TPD. He walked away with $4,591.70.

Ryan Prophet tallied 79 points in the long round and was the only other rider to earn 90 points, which he recorded in the short round, to finish in second place with 169 points and $2,673.25. Roscoe Jarboe turned in an 83.5-point ride in the long round and then put up 68 points in the short round to capture third place with 151.5 points and $1,320.90.

Another rider that has been hot on the TPD this summer has been Kasey Hayes. In the last few months, Hayes has ridden some of the PBR’s most unrideable bulls, like Fire & Smoke, Mississippi Hippy and Shepherd Hills Tested. He also won the opening night at the TPD event in Bismarck, North Dakota, earlier this month. Hayes tallied 86 points in the long round at the Cedar Park PBR Challenge on June 23 to take an early lead, before recording an 88-point score in the championship round to win the event with 174 points for $3,7782.25.

Tyler Harr and Mason Lowe were the only other riders to cover both their bulls at the Cedar Park event. Harr earned 87 points in the long round and posted an 85-point score in the short round, while Lowe notched 87.5 points in the long round and pulled down 84.5 points in the short round. Each finished with 172 points to tie for second place and each earned $2,618.00. Cooper Davis landed fourth place with 89 points in the long round, the highest score in either round, and finished with $1,547.00.

Although failing to cover his bull in the long round, L.J. Jenkins was able to earn 88 points in the short round to finish in third place and come away with $1,950.75.

At the Binford Bull Ride PBR event in Binford, North Dakota, on June 21, Jory Markiss continued to mount a comeback with another victory in the Touring Pro Division.
