NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fabiano Vieira (Perola, Brazil) had advanced to the final round of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Music City Knockout, presented by Cooper Tires, three years in a row but had never emerged on top. That changed when he battled his way through the bracket to claim his first PBR Major title Saturday night in front of a record-breaking crowd in Bridgestone Arena.

Vieira faced off against Cody Teel (Kuntz, Texas) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, lasting 5.47 seconds aboard Biker Bob (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/H&C Bucking Bulls). The 2012 PRCA champion, and PBR Rookie of the Year race leader Teel, only managed 2.72 seconds on Red Bandana (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/Chase Bass) which cleared the path for the veteran Brazilian.

More importantly, Vieira earned 905 world points and $116,300 to rocket from No. 17 to No. 7 in the PBR world standings.

Vieira now trails new world No. 1 Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) by 1,481.67 points.

Pacheco overtook previous No. 1 Eduardo Aparecido (Gouvelandia, Brazil) by winning the Ride Score Championship after going a combined 2-for-4 in Nashville. The 2015 PBR Rookie of the Year earned a bonus 300 world points for the aggregate win and leaves Tennessee with a total of 580 points and $44,300.

Pacheco now leads No. 2 Aparecido, who had held the No. 1 spot for 11 consecutive weeks, by 360 points.

Meanwhile, Teel earned 500 world points and $41,300 for finishing as the runner up at the Music City Knockout. Teel was the winner of Bracket C, and defeated Silvano Alves (Pilar do Sul, Brazil) on buckoff time in their Final Four matchup after lasting 6.70 seconds on Cooper Tires Semper Fi(Dakota Rodeo/Julie Rosen/Struve/Berger).

Teel moved to No. 10 in the world standings and extended his lead in the Rookie of the Year race by 716.67 points over Claudio Montanha Jr.(Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil).

Alves earned a total 185 points and $8,100 for winning the Second Chance Bracket and reaching the Final Four. Though he was defeated by Teel, Alves earned enough points to shift up to No. 20 in the world standings.

Pearl Harbor (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/H&C Bucking Bulls) was named the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event with 45.5 points when he dumped Alves in Round 8.

The Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) will take the next weekend off before returning to action in Thackerville, Oklahoma, for the WinStar World Casino and Resort Invitational Sept. 2-3. The BFTS’ final stop in the Sooner State is also the last event this season to take place outside and under the lights.

The action from Oklahoma will start at 7:30 p.m. ET on PBR LIVE and the PBR LIVE app both free to fans. Following Round 1, the Top 15 riders and Top 15 bulls will battle in the seventh 15/15 Bucking Battle of the season.

CBS will broadcast the extra round of competition starting at 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 3.

The final day from Thackerville will start at 5:30 p.m. ET on PBR LIVE and the PBR LIVE app. CBS Sports Network will also broadcast the final day starting at 8 p.m. ET.
