Weekly Recap

The second week of the new season only had six rodeos, but they collectively presented $754,007 worth of PRCA action Oct. 8-15.

It’s always a good idea to build a solid foundation in the PRCA | RAM World Standings early in the season and bull rider Chase Dougherty held nothing back as he scored the first 90-point ride of the 2019 season on Rosser Rodeo’s Rowdy at the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco, Calif.

The fastest times and highest scores might not always make the record book, but they make a lasting memory for fans and competitors. With about 650 PRCA competitions across the Western Hemisphere each year, there are plenty of opportunities to make a memorable ride.

Although the prize money differs from one competition to the next, the judging remains consistent across the board.

In addition to the fame that comes with winning the most prize money, each ride was a chance to be the best of the week. Here’s a look at the highest scores and fastest times for each event during that period.

Bareback rider Bill Tutor made an 87-point ride on Rafter G Rodeo’s Ankle Biter during the second round of Bracket III at the All American ProRodeo Finals in Waco, Texas.

Steer wrestler Jacob Talley made a 3.4-second run at the Austin Co. Fair & Rodeo at Bellville, Texas.

Team ropers Brooks Dahozy and Tyler Forsberg made a 4.6-second run at the Industry Hills (Calif.) Charity Pro Rodeo.
