What to Do During the RNCFR

If you’re attending the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo (RNCFR) this March, there are plenty of things to do in addition to experiencing the thrill of being a spectator of exciting, live rodeo action. Attendees will have the chance to take in a jam-packed event lineup, all of which will be held at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park.

To your Grills, Masters!
One of the larger – and no doubt tastiest – events happening during the RNCFR is the free family-friendly Florida Heritage BBQ Classic. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, this championship event will pit competitors against each other as they hand grill and smoke up mouth-watering beef, pork, brisket, gator and other exotic treats, all vying to win a piece of the $25,000 purse.

It all begins on Thursday, March 26 with the VIP Big Pig Bash, followed by the competition on Friday and Saturday. Meet the masters, eat some of the best BBQ in the world, and enjoy live music and interactive entertainment at this event.

Get in the Zone
Need to entertain the little ones? Take them to the Kids Fan Zone where activities will include a Climbing Mountain, 70-foot Obstacle Course, Bounce House, Screamer Slide and Laser Tag.

And don’t worry: there’s plenty of fun to go around, thanks to the Adult Fan Zone. Get pumped for the rodeo with a mechanical bull, Deluxe NASCAR Arcade game, LED Corn Hole, Giant Beer Pong, a Human Gyrosphere ride that simulates a space flight, and an interactive photo and video booth. Attendees can also check out the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 and Chrysler 300 in a ride-and-drive experience.

Both Fan Zones, located outside of the Silver Spurs Arena, will have plenty of food options for your dining pleasure and will open at 5 p.m. each night before the rodeo.

Bring Your Dancing Shoes
The lineup of live entertainment at RNCFR will kick off on Thursday, March 26 at 5 p.m. with Orlando-based country band Hayfire. Friday night’s musical entertainment will include Central Florida’s biggest dance party with DJ Eric, and Saturday will bring music all day and into the evening from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with Orlando-based bands like Southern rock band Neon Truckers, bluesy-rock band Bird Dog Bobby, and modern country band The Greg Warren Band.

But Wait…There’s More!
The first ever RNCFR to be hosted in Kissimmee will officially begin with a Cattle Drive on Wednesday, March 25 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Did you ever think you’d see a cattle drive across a major interstate? You’re in for a treat!

A special “Skirt and Spurs Luncheon” will take place on Thursday, March 26 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The event will include a fashion show with local retailers showcasing their styles on models representing the 12 PRCA Circuits, as well as great drawings and a live and silent auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Want to try your hand at a round of golf? Sign up to play at the Boots & Tees Golf Tournament on Friday, March 27. The tournament will offer golfers a chance to play the course at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links, modeled after fabled British links courses, while playing for a worthwhile charity, Horses & Heroes sponsored by Heavenly Hoofs. Explore the Gateway to Fun
Located right next door to Orlando’s world-famous theme parks, Kissimmee serves up princesses and wizards, animal encounters and exhilarating roller coasters. Visitors will discover a world of family fun and entertainment that will stretch their imagination and offer discoveries as diverse as they can possibly dream.

Take an airboat ride across the area’s pristine lakes to spot alligators in the wild. Glide down the headwaters of the Everglades at the Paddling Center at Shingle Creek in a kayak or on a standup paddleboard. Zipline through the treetops with a bird’s eye view of the state’s natural wonders. And at the end of the day, indulge in a spa visit for a little down time or visit the area’s exciting dinner attractions that will satisfy the whole family.
