Whitehorse, Willis Tie to Take Round 1 at Omaha BlueDEF Event

OMAHA, Neb. – In a night dominated by the bulls, two riders showed the crowd what they could do. Keyshawn Whitehorse and Beau Willis tied to take the first round of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) BlueDEF Tour (BDT) at the CenturyLink Center on Friday night with 84.5 points each.

Whitehorse rode RUJ Magic Kat (Juma Rodeo Stock/Byron Juma), while Willis rode Double O6 (Bar 3D Bucking Bulls/Rick Dreo) to take the event lead.

Neil Holmes took third on the night by riding Ace (Scott and Brittany Johnson/Chad Berger/JR Scott) for 83.5 points. Robson Aragao captured fourth on the night riding Hyper Active (Shippy/Lesko) for 82 points. Nathan Schaper rounded out the Top-5 riding 21 Guns (Darwin Ehlers) for 80.5 points.

The PBR’s sister organization, American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI), held a competition for younger bulls during Friday night’s event, with the bovine athletes facing off against the PBR riders.

Organized Crime (OK Corralis/Gordon/D&H) won the ABBI Big Tex Classic event with a score of 89.75 from the judges, worth $5,660. Sketchy Bob (D&H/Flinn) placed second with 88.25, followed by Cut The Cord(Aduddell/Owens) with an 88.

The BlueDEF Tour, presented by Real Time Pain Relief, returns to the CenturyLink Center on Saturday night. The action will start at 7 p.m. CT with doors opening at 6 p.m.

The BlueDEF Finals will take place at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 29-31, leading into the PBR 2016 Built Ford Tough World Finals. The winner of the BlueDEF Finals, the second- and third-place finishers, and the top international performer, along with the 2016 BlueDEF Tour Champion, will each qualify to compete at the PBR World Finals
