Winners Named for Calgary Stampede Bronze Competition
Calgary – The Calgary Stampede is pleased to announce the names of the artists selected to produce the 2018-2022 Calgary Stampede Champion Trophy Bronzes through our 2017 Bronze Competition. Nearly 200 western sculptures and bronzes were submitted by 27 extremely talented artists from across North America. Following a day of judging on Thursday, October 12, 2017, pieces have now been selected and comissioned in 24 award categories.
These beautiful, unique works of art will be presented over the next five years to the winners of the Rodeo and Chuckwagon events at the annual festival in July. The Calgary Stampede has been presenting its Rodeo and Chuckwagon Champions with trophy bronzes since 1940, and has held the Bronze Competition every five years since 1972.
