Winners Named in Pro Fantasy Rodeo’s “Christmas In July” Contest

After the hoopla and hurrahs of “Christmas in July” ended for PRCA contestants, one name emerged as the “Hottest in July” – bull rider Brennon Eldred of Sulphur, Oklahoma, with combined July earnings of $38,111 just barely edging out Trevor Brazile by $212. And as the saying goes, “When you’re hot, you’re hot,” and not only did Eldred win the $2,500 “Hottest in July” bonus and Champion Buckle by winning the most money of any PRCA contestant in July but he was truly the “Hottest in July” by also creating the highest money-earning team in the Pro Fantasy Rodeo “Christmas in July” contest. Because regulations for any fantasy sports contest prohibits a contestant entered in the contest from winning, Eldred cannot officially be named the PFR winner and instead the winner is Jim Davenport of Palestine, Texas, who will be presented with an all-new 2015 Bad Boy Zero Turn Mower for his winning team. Although Eldred was ineligible to participate for the prizes, Pro Fantasy Rodeo feels it is only the right thing to do and will also present him with a 2015 Bad Boy Zero Turn Mower since he picked the best team in the game.

Eldred’s team named “580” won a total of $241,626—the highest total of any other Pro Fantasy Rodeo team winnings and consisted of these winning team members and their July earnings: bareback rider Kaycee Field, $24,261, steer wrestler Nick Guy 25,958, team roping header Coleman Proctor $30,857, heeler Travis Graves $28,830, saddle bronc rider Wade Sundell $34,;777, tie-down roper Tuf Cooper $36,211, barrel racer Sherry Cervi $22,621, bull rider Brennon Eldred $38,111.

Eldred, a 21 year old bull rider who is currently ranked No. 1 in the Windham Weaponry PRCA World Standings as of August 5, 2015, qualified for his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2014. Receiving his PRCA card in 2013, Eldred has competed in youth through college rodeos throughout his career. When asked about his winnings, he said he was happy to have stayed healthy and that his July winnings just kicked his career up a notch. He and his traveling partner Sage Kinzey each entered a Pro Fantasy Rodeo team although Eldred played the 2014 WNFR game and stayed in the top 20% most of the 10 days.

Eldred is presently looking for a place to buy and commented that the mower will certainly come in handy. He recommends the game to everyone (unless you’re entered) and said, “Get in the Pro Fantasy Rodeo Game—get it going! It’s lots of fun, you can keep track of the cowboys and cowgirls, and besides you can win lots of cool prizes.”

In addition to the first place prize, Pro Fantasy Rodeo offered a Cactus Saddlery package for second place, Pendleton Whisky Firepit for third, Yoder Brothers Custom Prize Log Bench for fourth and other prizes to 20th place including Smith and Edwards gift certificates and Bex sunglasses in addition to weekly prizes.
