Beau Clark is New Rodeo Coach at the University of Wyoming

The University of Wyoming has announced the future of its college rodeo program in Laramie will be in the hands of Beau Clark who is currently coaching the Golden Eagles at Laramie County Community College (LCCC). Clark is in his second year at the Cheyenne school where the men’s team is contending for a slot at the college national finals in June. Longtime UW rodeo coach George Howard died last fall in a gun accident. A search committee interviewed prospective replacements over a period of several weeks for the position that is a coveted one in the world of college rodeo. In addition to being a coach Clark is a pro steer wrestler and just completed a successful trip to Florida earning more than $10,000 representing the Mountain States Circuit at the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo last weekend. Friday afternoon he was back steering practice at LCCC and is confident about the team’s ability to carry on without him. Clark is anxious to begin at UW for several reasons.
