Elshere Carries on Family Tradition at CNFR

Bronc riding fans know the name Elshere and its association with high-caliber saddle bronc riding. Gillette College freshman Carter Elshere is carrying on his South Dakota family’s tradition with flair at the 2018 College National Finals Rodeo. He is #1 after two rounds heading into Tuesday competition. Every contestant receives three outs attempting to qualify for the championship round this weekend in the Casper Events Center. More than twelve hours of slack competition in both rough stock and timed events have been staged already and another full day on Tuesday leads to the first evening performance. Elshere appears destined for a Saturday night short-go seat after staying in stride with two good horses from Harry Vold Rodeo Company. Courtesy of Wrangler Network contributor Charlie Coon.
