Champions Choice Roughstock Camp

A couple of ‘Special Ks’ to close out coverage of Champion’s Choice Rough Stock Camp in Laramie this past weekend. Laramie High School sophomore Kayson Dory is the #1 high school bronc rider in Wyoming and the 16-year-old spurred with style at Jed Moore’s three-day clinic in the University of Wyoming Teaching Arena. Moorcroft, Wyoming native and pro rodeo icon Kelly Wardell coached up the bareback riding attendees while Mo Forbes from Kaycee, WY tutored bronc riders. Wardell has a resume that includes credentials as a mixed martial arts instructor along with many years working in various capacities for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He now handles rough-stock coaching duties for the College of Southern Idaho which boasts the #1 men’s team in the U.S. Kelly won numerous pro rodeos during an illustrious bareback riding career that incredibly found Wardell making a comeback to compete professionally in his 50s.
