Fun Facts about Junior: There is no denying how great Junior is as a roper with 10 trips to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and two world championships to his credit. What is most important to him is being a great human being. He started roping as a toddler living in Brazil. Both of his parents roped and Junior was heeling behind his father at a very young age. He continued to rope with his mother after his father passed away when Junior was five years old. He came to the U.S., stayed with Jake Barnes and roped at his first NFR with the legend. He started roping with Kaleb Driggers in 2016. They won world championships the past two years and are in contention again this year. A year ago, they both started in first place and had a good head start before they got to Las Vegas. The NFR didn’t go as smoothly as they had hoped, but they still maintained their first-place positions. This year Junior is starting in second place. Their 2023 road to Las Vegas included a win at the 100 th Ellensburg Rodeo in Washington, a first- time championship for each of them. Extra special for Junior in 2023 has been having his family traveling with him. His wife, Jaqueline, daughter, Isabella, and son, Jake, have one more trip to make before they all start looking towards the next season.
