Fun Facts about Ty: He is a Montana cowboy through and through. Born and raised in Big Sky country, he furthered his education at Montana State University. And it’s where he and wife Cierra have settled and are raising their daughter Cedona Ann. Ty and Cierra have been together for 10 years and married for five. She is a talented horse trainer and competitor as well. With both of their busy schedules, time together is very precious. In 2019, Ty earned his first gold buckle. It was a pivotal moment for fans as he was the first steer wrestler to win it in nearly 70 years. And while that is his goal, it’s not his priority. Family comes first. In the future, when Ty decides steer wrestling goes on the back burner, it will be Cierra’s turn to give barrel racing or breakaway roping a shot. In the meantime, the couple is happiest when they are together, especially when they can compete at the same rodeo in their home state of Montana.
