Fun Facts about Ty: A good day rodeoing beats a full day of horseshoeing anytime, just ask Ty Wallace. Originally from Collbran, Colorado, he bought a place near Ardmore, Oklahoma a year ago and has been developing a good clientele of horses that need manicures. Those horses have helped him make a living since he last qualified for the WNFR in 2017 where he finished the season in third place. The next January at the National Western Stock Show Rodeo in Denver, a bull stepped on his arm. He worked to recover from that and then got stepped on again in June and had a broken foot. He took most of 2019 off and didn’t have the benefit of qualifying for the big rodeos, but still managed to earn enough money to move into the top 15 when the COVID-19 break started. He went back to horseshoeing, staying in shape and working on his fundamentals, and earned enough money to be back competing at his fourth WNFR.
