Two Time World Champion Steer Wrestler Jack Roddy competed in his first RCA rodeo at the age of 14. He grew up on the family ranch near Colma, Calif., riding and roping with his father’s friends in the rodeo business. Attending Cal Poly, he competed on the rodeo team and was the 1959 Steer Wrestling Champion and All Around Cowboy. Roddy went to the National Finals Rodeo for the first time in 1962. In 1966, he won the world championship in steer wrestling, setting a record for total earnings in the event and followed up with another championship in 1968.

Roddy served on the Board of Directors of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association as well as on the Board of the Rodeo Historical Society. Roddy worked alongside Cecil Jones in establishing the Ben Johnson Award.

Jack and his wife Donna ranch in Brentwood, California, where they built a golf course on the ranch – Roddy Ranch Golf – and hosted the first (and only) Rodeo Historical Society Golf Tournament. He is a leader in the cattle industry in California and member of Rancheros Visitadores. Roddy is involved in numerous charitable events across the US.
