Trevor Reiste

Trevor Reiste – Linden, Iowa ($97,121)
First-time WNFR qualifier
1-time RNCFR qualifier

For Trevor Reiste, physical conditioning riding bulls go hand in hand. The Linden, Iowa resident considers any day without a workout or getting on the back of a bull a wasted day.

Trevor was introduced to rodeo by his dad who roped calves. He was eight-years-old when he got on his first bull. He also started competing in saddle bronc riding and in 2008 he qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo in both events.

In high school, Trevor’s sport was wrestling. He finished in the top 10 in the state twice. Wrestling and athletics developed Trevor’s passion for fitness. His former wrestling coach has helped craft workouts tailored to bull riding.

Having had his share of major injuries, Trevor is committed to doing his best to remain healthy. He feels that workouts give him a competitive edge to remain injury free and that it keeps his joints and everything else strong. This is especially important as Trevor prepares for his first trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

Trevor enters the championships tenth in the world standings with regular-season earnings of $97,121. In fact, Trevor and bareback rider, Tim O’Connell, are the only Hawkeye State natives at this year’s competition. After finishing just out of the top 15 last year, qualifying for this year’s NFR is an important step on his ladder of success.

There are not many PRCA bull riders from Iowa on the rodeo circuit, so Trevor travels by himself most of the time. He has a very supportive family and can always do some weightlifting or cardio to fill up his spare time.

Trevor never misses an opportunity to share his love of rodeo with others and that has garnered him a lot of fans. Some of those fans will be at the Thomas and Mack Center and more will be watching the NFR on television. But all of them will be watching this faithful cowboy doing his best to conquer 10 bulls and add to his earnings.
