40th Annual Cowboy Downhill at Steamboat

What began as a Steamboat ski trip for six-time All-Around World Champion cowboy Larry Mahan has evolved into an annual ski competition involving more than 100 of the world’s best professional cowboys and cowgirls. Dressed in cowboy hats and chaps, the competitors show what they can do in eight seconds (or more) while on skis. Just as you’d expect, the annual Cowboy Downhill involves ropes, horses, saddles and more, and the event coincides with the National Western Stock Show in Denver. Check out the footage below from this year’s 40th Annual Cowboy Downhill that took place Monday, Jan. 20.
