History of the Crown: Miss Rodeo Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania. Previous queens were able to purchase and keep their crowns as tokens of their reign. In 2020, a new board was given the opportunity to design one of the most critical items in a rodeo queen’s wardrobe. The goal was to create a timeless piece that could showcase the beauty of the state and longevity of rodeo. With the help of Corriente Buckle Company, this idea was brought to fruition.

It was only fitting that the “Keystone State” should take center stage on the crown in a stunning bronze silhouette. The design also features the mountain laurel, chosen as the state flower since it is located in nearly each of Pennsylvania’s sixty-seven counties.

As the first queen to don this new crown, Miss Rodeo Pennsylvania 2020-2021, Gracie Johnson, has created a new milestone in the organization’s history. From the First Frontier Circuit Finals in Pennsylvania to the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Nevada, this crown will represent not only new beginnings but the bright and lasting future of rodeo in Pennsylvania.
