Standings Shuffle: Two Steer Ropers Jump into Top 15
Two steer ropers jumped five spots in the PRCA | RAM World Standings, the biggest climbs of the week of May 24-30.
Roger Branch, who made his National Finals Steer Roping debut in 2020, earned $2,883 in Claremore, Okla., across two events – the Will Rogers Stampede and the John Perry Wickett Memorial. That boost jumped him from 16th to 11th in the steer roping standings.
Taylor Santos earned $2,979 over the last week, also using it to break into the Top 15, as he climbed from 19th to 14th.
Branch, of Wellston, Okla., finished last season 15th in the standings with $28,149. The 59-year-old is nearly halfway to that mark already this season with four months remaining in the regular season.
Santos, who made the NFR in tie-down roping in 2019, is looking to qualify for the NFSR this season. He’s earned $12,497 so far this season in steer roping.
The 26-year-old from Creston, Calif., is 42nd in the PRCA | RAM World Standings in tie-down roping.

• J.B. Mauney broke into the Top 15, up to 15th, in bull riding.
• Jess Pope climbed to 15th in bareback riding.
• Chad Rutherford moved to 12th in bareback riding.
• Jason Stockton moved to ninth in steer roping.
• Zeke Thurston is up to 11th in saddle bronc riding.

• Derrick Begay moved up from 21st and is $36 away from breaking into the Top 15 in team roping heading.
• Wyatt Denny moved to 16th in bareback riding and is $47 away from cracking the Top 15 in bareback riding.
• Reo Lohse moved up from 17th and is $114 away from breaking into the Top 15 in steer roping.
• Clint Robinson moved up from 17th and is $1,283 away from breaking the bubble in tie-down roping.
