Standings Shuffle: Kastner’s Del Rio Effort Moves him into Top 15
Trevor Kastner’s 90.5-point ride in the first round of the 43rd annual George Paul Memorial Xtreme Bull Riding was the best ride of the event that took place May 21-22.
That first-round score nabbed him $4,272 for the round and another $5,459 in the average in Del Rio, Texas. The collective $9,731 was the most money earned at the event and helped vault the 33-year-old six spots in the PRCA | RAM World Standings. Kastner went from 21st to 15th with $25,106, putting him in position to qualify for his seventh Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
The Oklahoma cowboy has been to the last three NFRs and is hoping to make it four in a row this season.
In 2020, Kastner earned $25,654 at the Finals at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, in December. He missed the last four rounds due to a right shoulder injury suffered at the NFR.
This season he’s won the RAM Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo in Duncan, Okla., and the Dixie National Rodeo in Jackson, Miss.
In addition to Kastner, six other cowboys climbed within the Top 15 in the world standings during a relatively quiet ProRodeo week May 17-23.

• Roscoe Jarboe moved from 10th to eighth in bull riding.
• Cash Myers moved from 14th to 12th in steer roping.
• Jake Watson moved from 13th to 11th in saddle bronc riding.
One spot
• Dawson Hay climbed to third in saddle bronc riding.
• Scott Snedecor moved to seventh in steer roping.
• Jason Stockton moved to 10th in steer roping.
On the Bubble
J.B. Mauney is lurking just outside the Top 15. The 34-year-old bull rider, searching for his first NFR berth, climbed three spots after his performance in Del Rio. He is $1,053 away from getting into the Top 15.
