A Message from MRAI Operations Manager/Pageant Director

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. Our entire industry is at a standstill due to the pandemic. Please pray for Miss Rodeo America 2020, state titleholders, rodeo committees, cowboys and cowgirls, stock contractors, sponsors, etc. Our hearts go out to anyone who has been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we are truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.

During this time of uncertainty, it is exceedingly difficult to map out the future. Situations and regulations change day to day. The 2020 MRA Mid-year Meetings are still scheduled for July 9-11 at the Tropicana Las Vegas. Plans for the Miss Rodeo America 2021 Pageant (November 29-December 6, 2020) are also moving forward. As we navigate COVID-19, we remain in close contact with the PRCA, Las Vegas Events and our host hotel, the Tropicana Las Vegas. We will continue to communicate with our partners and monitor state and federal guidelines to make informed and thoughtful decisions about the MRA Pageant.
There is no instruction manual for how to feel at a time like this, and I know this causes stress for everyone. My list of worries right now — like yours I’m sure — is long: from my own children, parents, family, friends, to the safety of you and to the real harm that will be caused by the economic fallout across our communities.
This moment reminds us that we are all connected like never before. We are called upon to be our best selves, with patience, understanding and compassion. While we do not know for certain what the future holds, or how long this disruption will last, we can all rest in knowing that God is in control.
Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. I know that we are going to get through this, together.

Sincerely,
Jeana
