2021 California Rodeo Salinas Theme Days

SALINAS, CA – The California Rodeo Association is known for community involvement which often includes cause partnerships and events, both during and surrounding the actual Rodeo itself. 2021 will be another year of the California Rodeo Salinas partnering with various non-profits in the community to raise awareness and/or funds for their programs.

Thursday night is Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink night-wear pink to show your support for breast cancer awareness. $1 from each ticket sold that night will be donated to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System. Friday night is Fight Hunger Night with giant mascots racing along the track with entry fees benefitting Ag Against Hunger which donates fresh produce to local food banks. The mascot race has been going strong for 10 years, raising over $95,000 for Ag Against Hunger and their programs plus Salinas must be the only rodeo with racing vegetables in the show. Saturday is Salute to Military Day; wear your red, white, and blue and join us for special tributes during our Grand Entry. The Monterey Bay Veterans are the Rodeo’s partner in the Wrangler National Patriot Program and they will have a booth on site to promote their program which helps wounded Veterans re-acclimate with activities like fishing and diving. Sunday is Man Up Crusade Day and the Pendleton Whisky Day of Champions. The Man Up Crusade was started to raise awareness for domestic violence; wear purple to show support. The YWCA of Monterey County is the Rodeo’s local partner in this effort and their staff will man a booth during the Rodeo on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday to sell tickets for a Man Up Crusade belt buckle and more.
