2021 Reno Rodeo Rodeo Contestants to Watch
Competition Format – Each bull rider will have one shot to be crowned the Xtreme Bulls champion.
Tonight’s Xtreme Bulls performance will feature 40 of the top bulls and professional bull riders vying for a piece of the $54,000 purse. Xtreme Bulls is a one-night competition; scores from tonight will not go toward the Reno Rodeo championship.
Six-time world champion, Sage Steele Kimzey, will make his return to Reno. Currently holding on to his No. 1 world ranking, Kimzey will be riding Western Rodeo’s Smooth Sailing. Kimzey is no stranger to Reno; he won the championship in 2019. Kimzey took the win on Xtreme Bulls night in 2019.
Current world all-around leader, Stetson Wright, will ride Rosser Rodeo’s Long Branch. Wright is looking for his first win in Reno tonight. The three-time world titleholder is ranked No. 2 in the world standings for saddle bronc, and No. 4 in bull riding. Wright placed second in 2019 on Xtreme Bulls night in Reno.
Josh Frost placed third on Xtreme Bulls night at the 2019 Reno Rodeo. Frost is currently ranked 18th in the world standings with six rodeo wins to his name so far this year.
2018 Reno Rodeo Champion, Jeff Askey, will compete in tonight’s Xtreme Bulls competition on Western Rodeo’s Sumpin Special. Askey has been rising through the ranks finishing 13th in the 2019 world standings and is currently sitting in seventh.
