After The Crown: Miss Rodeo Wisconsin 2014

When asked to interview a Miss Rodeo Wisconsin alumni member, I could not help but choose my National Director, Miriah Lehmann. Miriah Lehmann was the 2014 Miss Rodeo Wisconsin. When asked why she ran for the title, she wanted to be involved in rodeo behind the scenes and really enjoyed promoting the sport. One thing she wanted to accomplish as Miss Rodeo Wisconsin was to be a good worker for the rodeo she was attending and to always be a helper to the stock contractor and assist in helping run the rodeo smoothly and set up the next Miss Rodeo Wisconsin for a successful year. One of her favorite memories of her year was when a rodeo announcer Kelly Kenny and her were in the arena interviewing the Mutton Bustin winner of that rodeo, Kelly Kenny was asking a bunch of questions to the little boy, and he would immediately answer no to all the questions no matter what. But when asked if the little boy wanted to give the Miss Rodeo Wisconsin a kiss, he immediately said yes, and she bent down for the little boy to kiss her on the cheek, this is also her favorite picture of the year. This will always remain as her favorite memory as a rodeo queen. One piece of advice she would give to young ladies wanting to run for a rodeo title she said, “to be yourself and enjoy the time of running as you can find out more about yourself.” To girls that are currently holding a title her advice would be “to take interest in others and be personable.” The Miss Rodeo Wisconsin Association has made a positive impact on Miriah’s life, and she now is a crucial member in helping the next Miss Rodeo Wisconsin as a National Director and still helps behind the scenes at one of her favorite rodeos, Heart of the North Spooner Rodeo!
