Behind The Chaps: Miss Rodeo Florida

Retired PRCA Bull Fighter Ben Lee built these chaps and matching vest during the year of Sharlee Rowen Whiddon, Miss Rodeo Florida 2005. They then became part of our pass-on and traveling wardrobe. These chaps and vest are very special to all of us who have held the crown since then. It means so much to me that over 18 years of history lives in this leather. Every time I put them on, I think of all of the amazing women who have had the fantastic opportunity to wear this combo for almost two decades.

My mother and I are also leather makers, and have plans to create my chaps for the Miss Rodeo America pageant. But until then, I will gratefully rock these gorgeous pieces of Miss Rodeo Florida history.
