Behind the Lens: Unleash The Beast Indianapolis

By: James Youness

Rookie of the Year frontrunner Daniel Keeping captured his second event title of the 2023 Unleash The Beast season, courtesy of his 2-for-3 showcase. Earning 114.5 UTB points and a corresponding $42,146 check, the No. 4-ranked rider bested Casper for 87.75 points in Round 1, followed by an 88.75-point effort atop Renegade in the second go to earn the event victory.

Featuring a youth-centric podium, Indianapolis saw fellow youngsters Casey Roberts and Tate Pollmeier round out the Top 3, respectively. Both concluding the weekend with 2-for-3 performances, Roberts logged the lone championship round qualified ride, an 88-point out paired against Red Demon, paired with his opening round theatrics aboard Little n’ Loud for 87 points to garner the second-place finish.

Pollmeier began the event a perfect 2-for-2, taking advantage of draws against Bottom’s Up (88.25) and Mike’s Effect (86.5) before bucking off Blue Duck in a heartbreaking 7.15 seconds to earn bronze in the event.
