Blanco and Lowe on Their Way to Colorado

PUEBLO, Colo. ― Brazilian Luis Blanco and Mason Lowe (Exeter, Mo.) split the Professional Bull Riders Cowboy’s For Kids Touring Pro Division event in Cleburne, Texas, this past weekend.

Blanco put up 86.5 points for fourth place in the long round, while Lowe took first place with an 87.5-point effort. Blanco then landed first in the short go with 87.5 points, Lowe place second during both of his entries in the championship round with two 86.5-point performances.

In addition to tying with Blanco for first place overall, Lowe also took third place with his second entry. Based on TPD rules, a bull rider may enter a TPD event as many times as they choose; some riders have been known to enter two, or even three times.

Blanco earned $3,391.50, while Lowe won a total of $5,355.00.

With their TPD wins, Blanco and Lowe each earned an alternate bid to the Built Ford Tough Series Rumble in the Rockies in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 2-4 at the Broadmoor World Arena.

The TPD will stop in Nebraska, Utah and twice in Texas this weekend.

Wharton, Texas PBR fans will be able to watch Josh Faircloth (Randleman, N.C.), Jason Malone (San Antonio) and Chad VanAmburg (Archdale, N.C.) will compete tonight, April 30, and Thursday, May 1.

Both nights will begin at 7:30 p.m., at the Wharton County Fairgrounds.

The 5th Annual Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Spring Fling Bull Riding is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3. Bonner Bolton (Odessa, Texas) and Zane Cook (Fort Gibson, Okla.) are ready to ride at Lone Star Arena.

Brant Atwood (Pampa, Texas), Jarrod Craig (Hillsboro, Texas) and Tyler Harr (Hazen, Ark.) are scheduled to compete in Casey’s General Store PBR Challenge on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Grand Island, Neb.

Also on Saturday, the PBR at Tuacahn Amphitheatre will take place at 8 p.m. in Ivins, Utah. Fans can expect to see Utah natives Jackson Stoney, Casey Sullivan and Zane Vincent ride.
