PUEBLO, Colo. – Lucas Divino had to miss the finale of the PBR Caterpillar Classic in Kansas City Sunday because of an old left knee injury he aggravated in Round 1 on Saturday night.
Kate Harrison reported on CBS Sports Network that Divino will need to get an MRI this week in Texas, and the No. 24-ranked bull rider in the world will meet with Dr. Tandy Freeman to determine the extent of his injury, which may be a torn PCL/MCL.
Juju bucked Divino off in a quick 1.75 seconds in Round 1. Divino is only 4-for-11 after riding at a 46.43% clip last season.
According to Dr. Tandy Freeman, Ezekiel Mitchell did not compete in the championship round because of a right thigh strain he sustained when Harold’s Genuine Risk bucked him off in 6.27 seconds during Round 2 on Sunday. Mitchell finished tied for 12th place in the event courtesy of his 85-point ride on Here to Party in Round 1.
In other injury news, Eduardo Aparecido went 1-for-2 while competing with a sprained right elbow he sustained in Fort Worth. Aparecido, the No. 17-ranked bull rider in the world, rode Party Star for 83.75 points in Round 1. Snub Nose bucked him off in 1.82 seconds in Round 2 on Sunday.
