History Lives On at the World’s Oldest Rodeo®

PRESCOTT: This year marks the 129th annual celebration of the World’s Oldest Rodeo®, held from June 28 through July 4, hosted by Prescott Frontier Days, Inc.® at the historic Prescott Rodeo Grounds.

With excitement and enthusiasm, Prescott’s most anticipated event of the year continues to deliver the legacy of rich-western history. This nostalgic event continues to impress many notable editorial outlets and peers in the industry. Recently, the World’s Oldest Rodeo® received numerous accolades that many would consider lucrative bragging rights like being listed by Yahoo Travel last year as the One Event NOT to Miss in Arizona, listed this year by True West magazine as the Best Historic Western Rodeo and last but not least, consistent five out of five stars on numerous social media outlets. With record attendance and sponsors at an all-time high, this year will be no exception of another successful week of world-class rodeo with family activities celebrating western history that makes Prescott shine.

In addition to eight heart-pounding rodeo performances, there will be another rodeo parade in downtown Prescott on Saturday, July 2 at 9 a.m. with a very special grand marshal, country western legend, Tanya Tucker. Tucker has received nine Grammy nominations, numerous awards with the CMA, CMT and ACM and is a member of the Texas Music Hall of Fame and one of CMT’s 40 greatest women of country music. Sponsored by Barrett Propane.

It is with great pleasure that the annual rodeo dance will be back in downtown Prescott, at the BMO Harris bank parking lot on the corner of Sheldon and Montezuma. The dance will begin on Thursday, June 30 through Saturday, July 2. Thursday night is family night so bring your entire family to kick up your heels! Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the door.

Come be a part of history, celebrate with us and we look forward to seeing you at the World’s Oldest Rodeo®!
