#InCaseYouMissedIt: Campbell Wins Final Regular-Season UTB Event, Velocity Finals on the Horizon and More
By: Darci Miller
Boudreaux Campbell is no stranger to late-season triumph, and he showed up big at the final Unleash The Beast regular-season event of the season. Plus, let’s take a look at the status of the world title race as the focus shifts to the World Finals in Las Vegas on Nov. 3-7, injury updates as the season concludes and more. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.
On the Unleash The Beast…
Boudreaux Campbell picked a great time to win his third premier series event of the season. The 2020 Rookie of the Year and World Finals event winner went 3-for-3 to win the PBR Cooper Tires Invitational, crack the Top 5 of the world standings and head to the World Finals riding some killer momentum.
Regarding the world title race, No. 2 Kaique Pacheco and No. 3 Cooper Davis gained ground on No. 1 Jose Vitor Leme with their Round 1 finishes…
…but both left points on the table and head to Las Vegas with a large mountain to climb.
One past World Champion that won’t be competing at the World Finals is Jess Lockwood, who shut down his season due to a lingering groin injury and will look ahead to getting healthy for 2022.
Mason Taylor broke his jaw in Lincoln and hopes to still be able to compete at the World Finals…
…and Thiago Salgado plans to push through the pain of an unstable right shoulder as he plans to ride in Las Vegas for the first time.
Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…
Davi Henrique de Lima won the first Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event of his career as the 2021 PWVT regular season concluded in Dayton.
Up north in PBR Canada…
Dakota Buttar is hoping to become the first back-to-back PBR Canada champion, and his win in Calgary could very well help him get there.
