Kinsel Captures Another Round Win at 2020 Wrangler NFR

ARLINGTON, TEXAS – After not finishing in the money in the third round after some traction issues, Hailey Kinsel and Sister returned to take their second victory lap at the 2020 Wrangler National Finals in Arlington, Texas.

The two-time and reigning WPRA World Champions stopped the clock in 17.09 seconds, matching her first round winning time, to outdistance another two-time WPRA World Champion Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi and Katniss, who finished in a time of 17.13 seconds.

“It felt really good,” said Kinsel when asked how it was to come back and win the round after the stumble in the third round. “Sister is so gritty and she never cheats me on the turns.

“She sure loves running in front of a crowd. We are so grateful to be here and have fans in the stands. To close out 2020 with a bunch of people cheering for her, I think she knows she is special.”

Kinsel extended her lead in the average tonight and holds the top spot there with a four-run time of 68.99 seconds. Pozzi Tonozzi is second in the average with a 69.21. The two continue to battle it out as they are both looking for their third world titles. Kinsel leads the standings with $161,653, while Pozzi Tonozzi has $153,840.

The WPRA Top 15 are not only competing for a gold buckle but also for the Jerry Ann Taylor Best Dressed Award presented by the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. The award winner will receive $5,000 and fans can help decide the winner by voting after each round at www.wpra.com.

Tonight was Memorial Night and the WPRA remembers Faye Faullin, who qualified for the NFR in 1968. She passed away on October 25. Faye was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Gail Stewart, on July 25, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

Fifth round action gets underway, Monday, December 6 at 6:45 p.m. CT LIVE on the Cowboy Channel.
