Kinsel, Saebens Back in Winner’s Circle

This weekend saw the 2019 WPRA World Champion and Wrangler NFR Average winner back in the winner’s circle aboard Sister and JLo, respectively.
Two-time world champion Hailey Kinsel captured the title in Burwell, Nebraska, after stopping the clock in 17.46 seconds to slide past Emily Miller and Leslie Smalygo with a 17.50. With the win, Kinsel added $2,367 to her 2020 earnings and is currently ranked fourth with $48,904 at 20 rodeos.
“Sister got us the W in Burwell, Nebraska,” wrote Kinsel on her Facebook page. “Big thanks to the Nebraska’s Big Rodeo committee for being so nice and accommodating, and trying really hard to make the ground great, and it was. I haven’t been to Burwell in a few years due to my regular schedule, but I will make a point to come back from now on!!! Sis is feeling great and ready to go. So excited for the next few weeks to keep it rolling.”

Miller and Smalygo finished 1-2 in Deadwood, S.D., with times of 17.61 and 17.63 seconds, respectively.
Ivy Saebens was the top barrel racer in Fredonia, Kansas, in a time of 17.21 seconds ahead of Jackie Ganter with a 17.40.
“The proof is in the pudding-thank you Marty Tanner for getting my girl back on track,” wrote Saebens on her Facebook page. “JLo placed at Spanish (Fork) with a 16.97 & won Fredonia by .2 tenths.”
Saebens’ is definitely happy to have her main mount back and the duo added $1,077 with the victory in Fredonia. WPRA World Champion Breakaway Roper Kelsie Chace also got a win in Fredonia stopping the clock in 2.3 seconds ahead of Amber Crawford with a 2.5 and former WPRA Rookie of the Year barrel racer Jimmie Smith, who finished third in a time of 2.7 seconds. Chace added $1,009 to her ProRodeo Breakaway Roping standings and is currently ranked 13th in those standings but remains No. 1 in the WPRA Breakaway Roping Standings.
Meka Farr had the largest payday of the weekend with her win in Spanish Fork, Utah. Farr took the title with a time of 16.85 seconds, just ahead of Wrangler NFR qualifier Stevi Hillman in a time of 16.87 seconds. Farr pocketed $9,718 to easily vault to the top of the Wilderness Circuit Standings.
