PBR Pick ‘Em Morning Line – Billings Round 3

By: Slade Long

Cody Nance on -915 Solid Iron’s Hammer Down:

Nance rode this bull for 91.5 points in their only meeting way back in 2016, but he did not have an easy time of it. Hammer Down went to the right, as he usually does, and Nance barely got him ridden. Look for the bull to have a slight edge.

Cody Teel on 761 Bushwacked:

Teel has ridden every bull he’s tried in Billings this week, but he may run into trouble in Round 3. Bushwacked is not the most difficult bull, but he has rarely been ridden when he goes away from the rider’s hand. The key factor is that he’s out of a right-hand delivery, and he may decide to go right, which Teel should be able to handle. He tends to go left more often, and he’s been ridden more often by lefties. This is a much more difficult matchup for Teel if Bushwacked goes left.

Jose Vitor Leme on 72 Hundred Bad Days:

Leme slipped out of the standings lead yesterday because Pacheco outrode him. He let one get away in the 15/15 Bucking Battle, but he did split the Round 2 win with Pacheco. He’s likely to bounce back in Round 3. He has a better draw than Pacheco. He is 2-for-2 against this bull this season for scores of 91 and 92.25.

Kaique Pacheco on 138 M.A.G.A.:

This is a great draw for Pacheco, but if he and Leme both stay on, Leme will certainly win the round. All Pacheco can do is stay on and pick up the points that come his way. He did that yesterday and took the world standings lead away from Leme. He should ride this bull handily and get to the short round in decent shape.

Luciano de Castro on 627 Midnight Flyer:

Castro has one qualified ride this weekend and will probably get another. Midnight Flyer threw Hunter Ball off in Round 1, but he was ridden in both of his other recorded outs. He tends to go to the left, which will be into Castro’s hand.

Dener Barbosa on 520C @PBR on TikTok:

This is one of the toughest matchups to call. Barbosa tends to do really well when I don’t think he will and bucks off when I expect him to stay on. TikTok can go either way, but he likes the right, and right-handed guys have had more success on him. He’s been ridden in five of his last eight outs, and even if he goes right here, Barbosa should be able to get it done.

Chase Dougherty on 2020 Theodore:

We don’t know that much about this bull. He threw Taylor Toves off last night. Dougherty has the talent to match any bull here. He was flawless in Round 1 but slipped up last night and let his bull get him in a bad spot. If he can get the whistle, it would mean a good pick and a good chance in the short round.

Leonardo Lima on 22 The Lodge:

With only one rider 2-for-2 this weekend, anyone who can put up two scores is in pretty good shape. Lima got a score in Round 1, and he has a very rideable bull here. The Lodge is 1-2 against left-handed riders and 2-3 against the average rider at the UTB level.
