PBR Pick ‘Em Morning Line – Las Vegas Round 2

By: Slade Long

Jose Vitor Leme on 428 Outlaw:

Leme is 1-for-2 against this bull. He was 90.75 points on him in Kansas City in 2020 but bucked off of him in Kansas City earlier this year. Outlaw is much nicer to right-handed riders; Leme is the only lefty to have ridden him. Still, Leme has good odds. Outlaw is a relatively easy bull compared to what he faced last night, and that matchup illustrates why he is such a beast in the world title race. He drew the toughest bull in the round and still gained ground on the rest of the Top 5.

Chase Dougherty on 71D Gray Smoke:

Dougherty was 87 points last night and has a great chance of doing it again. Gray Smoke has been ridden for 87 points in his last two outs, both by left-handed riders. This is a really nice bull that most of the top riders will get along with.

Cody Jesus on 2020 Theodore:

Like Leme, Jesus is in a good position to double up. He won the opening round and has a bull that fits him much better in Round 2. Chase Dougherty was 88 points on Theodore in Billings. This bull likes to go wide open to the left, and Jesus has won a lot of rounds on bulls just like this one.

Kaique Pacheco on 522 Vertigo Spy:

This matchup has the best odds of a qualified ride in this round. Vertigo Spy is 3-7 against right-handed riders. He’s really nice to ride, and should be a slam dunk for Pacheco, who is holding onto a one-point lead over Leme in the world standings. If the bull wins, it will be a huge upset.

Daylon Swearingen on 761 Bushwacked:

This is an interesting matchup. Bushwacked has been ridden just once in the past year. He’s a big bull with big horns, and he can be tricky and intimidating. The key factor here is that he’s strictly a pattern spinner who goes hard to the left. This makes him a good fit for Swearingen, who can dominate bulls who have good timing.

Austin Richardson on 716 Night Hawk:

We don’t know too much about this bull. Andrew Alvidrez was 86 points on him in Nampa, which is the only out he has on record. Richardson made an outstanding ride on a pretty tough bull last night. His odds are better on this one, but Night Hawk is much more of an unknown factor.

Cody Teel on B87 Wicked Hou:

Teel has a good draw here. Wicked Hou has given up a couple of big rides this season, and he’s usually a good fit for right-handed riders. Teel had a great event in Billings, but hasn’t drawn that well since until tonight. He needs a score here to have any chance at the short round after bucking off in Round 1.

Jesse Petri on 728 Draggin’ Up:

Petri bucked off last night, but he showed in Jacksonville that he can deliver when he has a good draw. This bull is one of the best draws around, especially for a lefty. He’s been ridden three times in five outs this season, and he’s 3-6 against left-handed riders overall.

Caic Cassio Carvalho on 92T Buckin’ For Cash:

Carvalho has been riding at a high level this season, but he didn’t inspire much confidence last night. This is a really strong bull who should go into his hand, and Carvalho has ridden 70% of bulls who like to go to the left in all his time in the states. As bad as he looked in Round 1, he has a chance to bounce back with a round win here.

Keyshawn Whitehorse on 9020 Gangster of Love:

Gangster of Love is unridden so far this year, but he is a pretty good draw for right-handed riders. He was ridden eight times in 11 outs last season. Whitehorse has ridden just one of his last 25 or so bulls, but he could set things back on the right path with this draw.
