PBR Pick ‘Em Morning Line – Manchester Round 2

By: Slade Long

Boudreaux Campbell on 5323 Coal Miner:

Since going 3-for-3 in Anaheim a little more than a month ago, Campbell has ridden one of his last nine bulls, several of which were very good draws for him. However, Campbell will finish this season in the Top 10 in the PBR world standings and the Top 15 in the PRCA, qualifying for both the NFR and the PBR World Finals. The only way to accomplish that is to leverage a large number of the good draws that come your way. This bull should be a decent fit for Campbell. They usually buck him out of a left delivery, and he tends to back out of the chute and go to the right, which would be away from Campbell’s hand. But he’s one of the more rideable bulls at this level of competition, and he’s been ridden more often than not by lefties.

Kaique Pacheco on 15-5 Dr. Campbell:

Pacheco won the first round with 91 points, and here he drew the bull Jesse Petri took second last night with 89 points. Hard to beat that for drawing well. The only downside here is that Dr. Campbell is a lot better at throwing off right-handed guys than he is lefties, even though he likes to go to the right. Pacheco should be a heavy favorite to get a good second score and control this event going into the short go.

Silvano Alves on 681 Dirty Sancho:

Alves didn’t get a score in Round 1, but he should certainly get one here. Kaique Pacheco was 91 points on this bull last night, and Dirty Sancho is now 4-7 against right-handed riders. He’s also been ridden in five of his last six outs.

Andrew Alvidrez on 507 Caddyshack:

This bull threw Boudreaux Campbell off in Round 1. Alvidrez is very familiar with Caddyshack – he’s been on him three times in the past year and rode him once.

Grayson Cole on 169 Peep Show:

Cole got by his first-round bull and has a decent chance to get by another one in Round 2. Peep Show is a seasoned veteran at this level, and he can hold his own against the best riders, but he gets ridden a lot by right-handed guys. Cole is an underdog, but he has a shot.

Ezekiel Mitchell on 407 Buffalo Scott:

Mitchell was 87 points on this bull in Jacksonville back in May. Buffalo Scott threw Ramon de Lima off last night, but he’s been reasonably good for right-handed guys. He usually goes to the right, and he can be a little tricky. He can move around in the spin and slow down or speed up, but he rarely has much forward movement, and this gives riders a chance.

Mason Taylor on 247 Red Dawn:

Red Dawn is a proven veteran bull with 84 career outs, 44 of those at the UTB level. In many ways, he is the perfect modern PBR bull. He’s ridden around 30% of the time and presents a challenge to every rider he faces. He’s honest – no tricks – but still wins most of his matchups. He’s 9 years old but can still deliver a big score if Taylor can hang with him.

Jesse Petri on 639 The Undertaker:

Petri already has an 89-point score on the board, but he may find it tough to get another. The Undertaker is 29-2 in his career, and he just isn’t easy to ride. In January, Petri had him at a Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event in Greenville, South Carolina, and took him 5.7 seconds before bucking off.

Adriano Salgado on 7547 CB’s Buck Naked:

Eduardo Aparecido bucked off this bull in Round 1, but Buck Naked is one of the more rider-friendly bulls in the round. He’s likely to go away from Salgado’s hand, but he has great timing and is predictable.

Marcelo Procopio Pereira on 671 White Dust:

Pereira bucked off in the first round, but he should be able to handle this bull easily. White Dust is 9-3 overall, but 2-3 against right-handed guys. He’s nice enough to ride that most UTB-level riders should get along with him, and so far, that has proven to be the case.
