PBR Pick ‘Em Morning Line – Sacramento Round 2

By: Slade Long

Cooper Davis on 591 Twisted X:

This is a solid draw for Davis and puts him in a great position. Davis was second in Round 1 and has a bull in Round 2 that the top riders regularly ride. Look for Twisted X to have great timing, stay close to the ground, and be locked into a steady spin. Davis should be able to handle him easily.

Boudreaux Campbell on 5121 Honky Tonk:

This bull is unridden in seven career outs. Aside from throwing off Derek Kolbaba twice this season, including Round 1 Friday night, he’s also kind of untested. He hasn’t faced a lot of high-level riders. Campbell got a great score in Round 1, but this match is a big question mark.

Dalton Kasel on 169 Sky Harbor:

This is one of the better matchups in the round. Kasel is 0-1 on this bull, but aside from that, they are almost made for each other. Sky Harbor fits Kasel’s style very well, and in their only previous matchup, Kasel rode him 7.44 seconds. This bull can be unpredictable, but Kasel should be able to handle anything he may do.

Lucas Divino on 25/5 Black Kat:

Divino took advantage of a nice Flying U rodeo bull in Round 1 for 87.25 points, and he has another Flying U bull here that he should be able to beat. Black Kat only has 12 career outs, but he’s already 1-4 against right-handed riders and 0-4 against the better riders he’s faced. He’s one of the most rideable bulls in this round.

Cody Nance on 411 Bad Brad:

Nance is 0-2 against this bull; they met once in 2019 and once in 2020. Bad Brad can be pretty difficult to ride. We don’t see him at this level all that often, but he has a respectable record against even the top riders. He can be ridden, but this will be a tough match for Nance to win.

Cole Skender on 739 Nasty Wishes:

Rafael Henrique dos Santos rode this bull in Las Vegas, but Nasty Wishes threw off Cooper Davis in Nampa in April and Eduardo Aparecido last night. The bull has the edge in this matchup, but Skender is an up-and-coming young rider who has ridden most of his bulls over the past few weeks, and he definitely has a chance here.

Jose Vitor Leme on 672 Payback:

This is a relatively unknown bull with only two previous outs, one of which was in Round 1 against Bob Mitchell. He hasn’t been ridden yet, but that record may not last long, given that he’s matched up with a superhuman. The best chance this bull has is if Leme loses interest because he’s not rank enough and accidentally falls off.

Dalton Krantz on C-6 Rack City Dreamin’:

Krantz cashed in on having one of the nicer draws in the pen on Friday, and he has another nice draw here. Rack City was ridden by Silvano Alves in Round 1, and he’s 0-2 against lefties in his short career. He’s been ridden three times in five outs overall.

Chase Dougherty on 175 Ghost of Oscar:

This bull has been around for a few years but doesn’t get out much. Skeeter Kingsolver rode him a couple of years ago, and he threw off Dalton Kasel last season and Ross Freeman Friday night. Dougherty is in the lead after winning Round 1, and he’s been a busy guy this season. He’s been on a lot of bulls. This match is kind of a toss-up because this bull is something of an unknown.

Kaique Pacheco on 513 Good Night Robicheaux:

This is a heavyweight fight. Keyshawn Whitehorse rode Robicheaux in the 15/15 round last night, and Pacheco rode him at the World Finals last year, but overall this bull has only given up four qualified rides in 57 career outs. He’s one of the toughest bulls in the business and not a fun bull to draw for any rider.

Dakota Louis on C23 Smoke Show:

Louis got a score in Round 1 and has a very good draw in Round 2. Smoke Show has a few tricks up his sleeve. He can jump out of the spin, slow down or speed up, but he’s pretty rideable. He tends to telegraph his every move by keeping his head pointed in the direction he’s headed. He likes the left and has been ridden pretty regularly by left-handed riders. His habit of throwing the changeup gets him some wins, though. He threw Jose Vitor Leme off in Nampa earlier this year.
