PRCA Weekly Recap: Feb. 3-9

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2020 leaderboard witnessed substantial changes the first full week of February as ProRodeo athletes nailed the highest scores of the season in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding and the fastest team roping run of the season, so far.

With $1.34 million worth of prize money up for grabs between 10 ProRodeo competitions across the U.S. Feb 3-9, competition was particularly stiff at the Fort Worth (Texas) Stock Show & Rodeo and Rodeo Rapid City (S.D.) as they presented payouts of $1,079,496 and $161,842, respectively.

The fastest times and highest scores might not always make the record book, but they make a lasting memory for fans and competitors. With more than 700 PRCA competitions across the Western Hemisphere, there are plenty of opportunities to make a memorable ride.

Although the prize money differs from one competition to the next, the judging remains consistent across the board.

In addition to the fame that comes with winning the most prize money, each ride was a chance to be the best of the week. Here’s a look at the highest scores and fastest times for each event held Feb. 3-9.

For the second week in a row, bareback rider Tilden Hooper made the highest-scored ride of the week, but this time he did it with one of the highest scores of the 2020 season so far.
