PRCA Weekly Recap: Sept. 21-27
The final full week of the regular season can be the deciding factor in who qualifies for the 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The high stakes brought high scores and fast runs at the three ProRodeo competitions worth a collective $398,544 held Sept. 21-27.
Although the following cowboys posted the best rides and runs of the week, the outcome of the 2020 PRCA | RAM World Standings remains unofficial until fully audited.
Bareback rider Orin Larsen won the semifinals of the Gold Buckle Beer ProRodeo Tour Finale in Rapid City, S.D., with a 91-point ride on Brookman Rodeo’s Famous Dex, Sept. 26.
Steer wrestler Jesse Brown posted his second addition to the 2020 leaderboard by winning Round 2 of the Tour Finale in 3.2 seconds Sept. 25. Brown made the fastest run of the season when he stopped the clock in 3.1 seconds in Denver. He also shares the No. 2 spot on the leaderboard with four other steer wrestlers.
Team ropers Tyler Wade and Billie Jack Saebens won the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo in Stephenville, Texas, by 0.1 seconds with a 3.7-second run Sept. 27.
Saddle bronc rider Stetson Wright saved the best for last by making a 90-point ride on Burch Rodeo’s Lunatic From Hell to win the four-man finals in Rapid City, Sept. 26.
Tie-down roper Tyler Milligan won the first round in Rapid City with a 7.6-second run Sept. 22.
Steer roper Thomas Smith posted a 9.1-second run to win Round 3 in Stephenville, Sept. 24.
Barrel racer BryAnna Haluptzok won Stephenville with a 15.4-second run Sept. 24.
Bull rider Ty Wallace combined with Dakota Rodeo’s Trail Of Tears to win the semifinals in Rapid City with 91 points Sept. 26.
