ProRodeo Sports News Unveils its First-Round Draft Picks

With the NFL Draft April 28-30, athletes lives will change forever the moment their names are called.

These incoming rookies will aspire to be the best ever, and someday be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The NFL Draft got the PRCA staff thinking what better time than now to put together a quick list of ProRodeo’s best ever.

These cowboys weren’t drafted into rodeo, but went on to become ProRodeo Hall of Famers.

Remember this list of all-time greats is subjective, but this is the ProRodeo Sports News first round draft picks.

Roughstock

Billy Etbauer, 5-time PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Champ, 51 National Finals Rodeo round wins
Kaycee Feild, 6-time PRCA Bareback Riding World Champ, event-record 27 NFR round wins
Donnie Gay, PRCA record holder with eight bull riding world titles, also had 16 NFR round wins
Ty Murray, nine-time PRCA All-Around World Champ; two in bull riding
Jim Shoulders, 16-time PRCA World Champion – five all-around, seven bull riding and four in bareback riding

Timed-Event

Guy Allen, 18 steer roping PRCA World Championships
Trevor Brazile, 26 PRCA World Championships; ProRodeo’s only $7-million cowboy, has 26 gold buckles that include a PRCA-record 14 in all-around, three in tie-down roping and one in team roping and eight in steer roping.
Cody Ohl, six world championships, one all-around, five in tie-down roping, 55 NFR round wins
Dean Oliver, 11 world championships; eight in tie-down roping; three in tie-down roping
Roy Cooper, known as Super Looper, eight world titles, six in tie-down roping, one in steer roping and one all-around
